Why was SRK's presence at the final accorded so much importance ? Like all others he just went there (a) To watch the final live (b) Give his son that experience and (c) Promotion and publicity for his new film Om Shanti Om. After the presentation ceremony he went and hugged them. So far so good. Now, Rajdeep Sardesai interviews him and asks a question on these lines - " Shah Rukh , do you think your presence inspired the Indian team ? " What crap! Thankfully, he did not take credit away from the Indian team.
It was free publicity for him and the eternal diplomat and charmer that he is, he perfectly cashed on that. I am happy he did not promote himself . But every news channel , online news sites like cnn-ibn , rediff and even newspapers had a photo and some unnecessary coverage.
So much footage and publicity for just being there !

Our media sucks. Basically too many people with nothing much to do, idle mind, devil's workshop case.
The worser thing was to claim that India did well in the Asia Cup hockey tournament because of the movie. Worst wonly.

I had no probs with SRK comming 2 Watch the match as he was Invited by Icc as a spl guest dunno for wht reasons but he was invited ( dunno how far it is true )

Well yeah Sharukh Khan is a pure business man, entertainment being his business. He will goto any lengths to publicize himself and make money. Remember the time he dance at the wedding of Lakshmi Mittal`s daughter

Hehe very long comment. Totally agree. All because of the24*7 news channels wonly. Well, the big 3 wouldnt have made much of a differnce in T20 da. Sachin could have made some impact though , in the initial overs.Dude, these newbies are succesful in T20 , but 50 overs is a different ball game altogether. We cannot do without the Big 3 in ODIs

Agreed, but more than SRK's self publicity, the media gave him too much footage. Thats the issue.SRK is shameless. He has danced at every affluent businessman's wedding in Delhi and claims he wants money for his son's future.
